The first time I heard brother and sister duo Evan and Eris was earlier in the Summer on a Saturday night after leaving a family function on Kirk Franklin’s Sirius XM channel. The DJ played their only track at the time as far as I could see when I looked them up “Be Alright” featuring Steven Malcolm and immediately I was hooked. With experience in the industry producing and performing with Andy Mineo, Canton Jones, Deraj, Brvdndon P, Derek Minor, and Da Truth, Evan and Eris are now focusing on putting out their own music with their own sound. Their sound reminds me of a cross between R&B and Gospel because their sound is extremely melodic as they sing about God.
On their debut single “Be Alright” Evan and Eris talk about how no matter what life throws their way with God they will be alright. With lyrics like “no matter what the odds may bring our way” they “can see the blessings coming our way” this song will have you ready to face anything life has to offer graciously. This song was on and still is on repeat.
Then they released their next single “Glory” in which they sing about giving God the Glory he deserves because he’s taken all the guilt and shame away. With lyrics like “you died for me to live for you, my life I freely give to you” and “I want to give you the Glory father you’re the one and only” this embodies every element of a worship song with a twist. The twist being Evan and Eris’s melodic sound.
On their newest single Evan and Eris sing about essentially letting go and letting God. With lyrics like “ I don’t got it all planned out but you know, I just watch it all pan out cause you know” this song gives listeners a boost in our faith and some reassurance that God has a plan for us so there is no need to stress.
